Shanghai, May 14 (Xinhua) — China’s A-share market closed sharply lower on Thursday, May 14, as early gains faded amid heavy profit-taking and intensified liquidity concentration in large-cap stocks. The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 1.52% to 4,177.92, while the Shenzhen Component Index dropped 2.14% to 15,745.74. The ChiNext Index, tracking growth stocks, slid 2.16% after hitting a record intraday high.
